Complementary Therapies

About me
My name is Angela and I’ve been working as a complementary therapist since 2001, following a career in nursing.
My specialities are reflexology, reiki and Indian head massage. I am very passionate about helping people to reduce their stress levels and feel more relaxed.
For the past 14 years my work has included working alongside the Multiple Sclerosis society, travelling to people to provide treatments in the comfort of their own homes. I find this very satisfying and have built lasting friendships with the people I meet, many of whom live alone and enjoy regular visits.
Reflexology, Reiki and
Indian head massage.
Treatments
Reflexology
An ancient practice originating from Egypt, India and China. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body and as a reflexologist I work these points and areas. It is a therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing, reducing stress, optimising good health and helping to build resilience.
Reiki
A Japanese technique for relaxation and stress reduction that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying hands on or above the body and is based on the idea that an unseen ‘life force energy’ flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reike treats the whole body, emotions, mind and spirit creating relaxation and feelings of peace.
Indian Head Massage
An Ayurvedic massage therapy in which the upper back, arms, head, neck and face are massaged with or without the use of oils, using a range of massage techniques. It helps to clear blockages in the meridians (energy channels) that cause a build-up of negative energy that are purported to cause ailments. Indian Head Massage stimulates nerves from the head area, helping you to relax and improve your physical and mental health.
It also increases circulation, exfoliates the scalp and nourishes the hair.
The treatment is carried out with theclient fully clothed, sitting on a chair.
